Cryogenic Freeze

Cryogenic Freeze plugs are an economical, temporary alternative to conventional well control operations. Using liquid N2, or a combination of Dry Ice and Methanol, an effective freeze plug can be created in the wellbore to isolate surface equipment and allow for the safe repair or replacement of the surface equipment on a live well.

Containerized Freeze Units are available in 5,000 PSI, 10,000 PSI, and 15,000 PSI models.

Units are available in simplified and Advanced Intervention (AI) models, with an onboard Freezelogic© system installed.

The Freezelogic© system provides the user with powerful automation and monitoring systems. The system supplies a touchscreen HMI, and wired and wireless sensors that monitors:

  • Temperatures
  • Pressures
  • Flow rates
  • Volumes pumped
  • Pump status
  • Valve status

The user can control a variety of functions such as:

  • Lubricator fill pump control
  • Glycol/Hydraulic/Electric pump control
  • Opening/Closing of inlet valves
  • Opening/Closing of outlet valves

Units are all available in fully electrical options as well.
